Iran Warns of Dangers of US Provocations in the Persian Gulf
Tehran – Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, has warned of the dangerous consequences of provocative actions by the United States in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. Such actions could further complicate the regional situation.
In a telephone conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday (16/4/2026), Araqchi explained the latest developments in the region following the implementation of a ceasefire.
Araqchi also warned of the dangerous consequences of the United States’ provocative stance and actions in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, which he believes will make the regional situation even more complicated.
Araqchi expressed appreciation for the policies of China and Russia in opposing the irrational and one-sided resolution proposed by the US at the UN Security Council regarding regional developments. He described the steps taken by the two countries as effective in reducing tensions.
Meanwhile, Wang Yi praised the resilience and independence of the Iranian nation during the recent war. He affirmed Beijing’s readiness to help promote diplomacy and end the conflict.
