Iran Warns Israel Against Further Attacks on Lebanon: Patience Has Limits!

Iran’s primary military command has warned that if Israel carries out attacks against the Lebanese capital, Beirut, residents of northern Israel must evacuate the area to avoid injury.

According to Al Arabiya on Tuesday (2/6/2026), this warning emerged as Mohsen Rezaei, an advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader, stated that further escalation in Lebanon ‘will not be tolerated.’ In a post on the social media platform X, he added that ‘the patience of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran has its limits.’

Previously, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered strikes against the southern outskirts of Beirut, controlled by the Hezbollah militia, on Monday (1/6) local time. This has triggered a new wave of displacement in a conflict that has already forced over one million people to flee within Lebanon.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a communiqué that the United States bears responsibility for the violations of the ceasefire involving Iran, as well as Israel’s ceasefire violations in Lebanon. The Ministry asserted that a violation of the ceasefire on one front is equivalent to a violation across all fronts.

This recent tension threatens the fragile ceasefire between Iran and the United States, which came into effect on 8 April following 39 days of war. Since then, both parties have maintained contact aimed at transforming the ceasefire into a broader agreement; however, no final deal has been reached to date.

Iran has repeatedly emphasised that the ceasefire must apply to all fronts, particularly Lebanon, where the Iranian-backed Hezbollah is engaged in combat against Israel. Iranian officials have warned that sustained Israeli attacks in Lebanon could jeopardise the ceasefire and broader diplomatic efforts.

Earlier on Monday, Iranian state television reported that the likelihood of the ceasefire between Tehran and Washington failing is very high if Israeli attacks on Lebanon continue.
