Moscow (ANTARA) - The Navy of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned ships not to attempt to cross the Strait of Hormuz, which has been closed, following a tanker incident, according to a report by Iranian satellite television channel Al-Alam. “We continue to control the Strait of Hormuz and will act decisively against any ship that tries to cross it,” the report stated, citing an IRGC command statement. According to the report, the Iranian military previously fired shots to prevent a tanker from passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The incident occurred off the coast of the city of Sirik, in southern Iran. The Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA) confirmed on Thursday that Iran had closed the Strait of Hormuz to shipping until further notice. Source: Sputnik/RIA Novosti
