Iran Vows Unrestricted Retaliation Against US and Allies if Nuclear Facilities Attacked

Any location in Iran deemed by Washington to be linked to Tehran’s nuclear programme will become the target of a major attack.

Tehran (ANTARA) - Tehran’s response to a possible American attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities will not be limited, and US interests and those of its allies in the region will be included on Iran’s list of targets, according to an Iranian military source familiar with the matter who spoke to RIA Novosti.

On Tuesday (21 July), US President Donald Trump said that any location in Iran deemed by Washington to be linked to Tehran’s nuclear programme would become the target of a major attack.

“The response to any new attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities will not be limited. On the contrary, such an attack will escalate the conflict to such an extent that the US and anyone else supporting it will bear significant costs,” the source said.

If the US carries out its threat, all facilities representing US interests, bases and military assets in the region, as well as the interests of allies that take part in any hostile actions against Iran, will be included on Tehran’s list of targets, the source said.

On the eve of 18 June, Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum guaranteeing the end of the conflict that had begun on 28 February.

However, since 8 July, US forces have carried out a series of attacks on Iran. US Central Command claimed the strikes were in response to Iran’s actions against commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian forces then retaliated by attacking US bases in the Middle East. US President Donald Trump subsequently said that the ceasefire between the US and Iran was no longer in effect.
