Iran’s Embassy in Jakarta has confirmed that the Islamic Republic will deliver a firm and strong response to attacks allegedly carried out by the United States and Israel on Saturday, 28 February 2026.

In a press statement, Iran’s Embassy in Jakarta condemned the strikes targeting civilian locations and vital infrastructure in Tehran and several other cities. The attacks were deemed to violate Iran’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty. The actions of the United States and Israel were characterised as breaching Article 2(4) of the UN Charter and constitute an act of aggression against Iran.

In response to this aggression, the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on Article 51 of the UN Charter, will deliver a firm and strong response to Israeli and American aggression.

As a founding member of the UN, Iran emphasised the responsibility of the UN Security Council to immediately take action against violations of international peace and security resulting from the alleged Israeli aggression. Iran called on the President and members of the Security Council to take prompt action regarding the situation.

Furthermore, Iran’s Embassy in Indonesia referenced various alleged violations committed by the United States and Israel against the UN Charter, international law, human rights, and international humanitarian law over recent decades. The actions of Washington and Tel Aviv were deemed a serious threat to regional and international peace and security.

In concluding its statement, Iran’s Embassy appealed to the Indonesian government and people, political leaders, religious and Islamic organisations, academics, and media professionals to firmly and openly condemn the commencement of war and aggression against Iranian territory. Reports confirmed that major explosions were heard in Tehran as US military operations commenced following Israeli missile strikes. Iran subsequently closed its airspace indefinitely, whilst telephone networks in the capital were disrupted amid regional tensions.
