Iran vows no US threats or attacks will go unanswered
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, warned on Wednesday that no attack or threat against Iran would go unanswered following US strikes in the south of the country. Despite losing on the battlefield, the US has chosen to test our resolve, Araghchi said in a post on his X social media account. Our powerful armed forces will not allow any attack or threat to go unanswered, he added, warning the US to leave our region if you want to be safe. He noted that the history of the Persian Gulf contains many chapters about the grim fate of meddling foreigners. Earlier, Iranian media reported explosions and projectile strikes on Qeshm Island, Sirik, Minab, and Jask in the southern Hormozgan province, while air defences were activated in Bandar Abbas, Qeshm, and Sirik. Iranian state television later said the reported wave of attacks had subsided and the situation had become almost calm. The development came after US Central Command announced that American forces had begun carrying out defensive strikes against Iran in response to the downing of a US Army Apache helicopter in a previous incident.
