Iran Vows Harsh Retaliation for Death of Larijani
Tehran — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has vowed to retaliate severely against the assassination of Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, according to the Iranian presidential office on Tuesday, 17 March.
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz previously stated that Larijani was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Tehran. Larijani’s death was subsequently confirmed by his office.
“Certainly, a harsh retaliation awaits the criminal terrorists who, during their aggression, have shed the blood of martyrs from Iran’s sacred soil,” Pezeshkian said in a statement.
He also conveyed his condolences over Larijani’s death.
