Iran has used the Haj Qasem ballistic missile for the first time in its ongoing conflict with the United States and Israel, according to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as reported by the Fars news agency on Tuesday, 17 March.

The IRGC stated that the missile was employed in the latest series of military operations, including phase 59 of Operation “True Promise 4,” which targeted US military bases in Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Iraqi Kurdistan.

The Revolutionary Guard also reported attacks against several Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv, West Jerusalem, and Beit Shemesh.

According to Fars, the Haj Qasem was among the missiles launched in these strikes, marking its first use during the current conflict.

The missile, which was deployed in the conflict with Israel in June 2025, is described as a solid-fuel tactical ballistic missile.

Introduced in 2020, the missile is claimed to have a range of approximately 1,400 kilometres. Iran continues to conduct strikes against Israel and US military targets across the Middle East in retaliation for joint military operations conducted on 28 February.
