Investment and Downstreaming Minister and Head of BPI Danantara, Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, believes the end of the conflict between Iran and the United States is an excellent momentum for Indonesia’s investment climate. Speaking at the Presidential Palace on Monday (15/6/2026), Rosan stated that the easing of global geopolitical tensions could boost investor confidence in developing countries, including Indonesia. “This is certainly a very good momentum,” Rosan said. US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire agreement with Iran that also reopens the Strait of Hormuz shipping lane without levying fees. The deal is said to end hostilities between the two nations and potentially stabilise global energy supplies. In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that the agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran had been finalised. He also announced the lifting of the US Navy blockade and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most vital oil distribution routes. “The deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. I hereby fully authorise the opening of the Strait of Hormuz without charge and simultaneously authorise the immediate lifting of the United States Navy blockade. Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow,” he said on Monday (15/6/2026). Trump assessed that the agreement would bring peace and security to the Middle East region. He also hinted at a broader peace treaty with Iran in the near future. “Congratulations to all parties,” Trump concluded.
