Iran: US seeks to evade responsibility for deadly attack on Minab primary school

The United States’ attack on a primary school for girls in Minab has been confirmed, but Washington is attempting to avoid responsibility, Iran’s Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali told RIA Novosti.

Earlier in mid-July, the White House denied responsibility for the attack on the school in Iran, stating that the US has never attacked children.

“The US does not need to confirm or deny this: the remnants of Tomahawk missiles at the scene, as well as various evidence and reports, confirm that the target of the attack was an active girls’ primary school. Denying this objective fact is an insult to international public opinion,” Jalali said.

He added that the United States is attempting to conceal this humanitarian tragedy behind political statements, but those responsible for what happened must be brought to court.

Jalali noted that 15 August marks 168 days since the deaths of 168 students at the Minab school.

Earlier on 28 February, when the United States began its months-long campaign against Iran, the initial strike hit a school in Minab District, southern Iran, killing more than 170 people, most of them children.

The Iranian government said the attack was carried out by Tomahawk missiles.
