Moscow (ANTARA) - Iran, the United States, Pakistan, and Qatar have completed preparations for the next phase of high-level negotiations between the parties, Press TV reported on Tuesday.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stated that the upcoming talks would be conducted under the supervision of a high-level committee.

“Based on the understanding reached, the forthcoming negotiations will take place under the supervision of a high-level committee with the participation of the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Vice President of the United States, as well as the prime ministers of Pakistan and Qatar,” Gharibabadi was quoted as saying by Press TV.

He also announced the formation of four specialised working groups to support the negotiation process.

The four working groups comprise a Sanctions Relief Working Group, a Nuclear Working Group, an Economic Reconstruction and Development Working Group, and a Monitoring and Implementation Working Group.

Earlier, on 18 June, Iran and the United States signed a memorandum of understanding remotely, which stipulated the cessation of military conflict that had been ongoing since 28 February.

The document also set out a timetable for the lifting of the US naval blockade of Iranian ports and the restoration of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz by Iran.

The negotiations between Iran and the United States, mediated by Pakistan and Qatar, took place at the Burgenstock resort in Switzerland on 21 June.
