Iran-US Negotiations to Be Extended by One Day
Tehran (ANTARA) - Talks between Iran and the United States will be extended by one more day, with a new round set to begin on Sunday in Islamabad, as reported by Iran’s Tasnim news agency.
Previously, the Iranian government stated that negotiations between the Iranian and US delegations would continue despite differences between the two sides.
“Negotiations will continue despite a number of differences,” the Iranian government said on Telegram.
Iran and the US initiated talks in Islamabad on Saturday after US President Donald Trump announced an agreement with Tehran for a two-week ceasefire on Wednesday evening.
The Iranian delegation is led by Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, accompanied by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, National Security Council Chairman Ali Akbar Ahmadian, and Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati.
Meanwhile, the US delegation is led by Vice President J.D. Vance, along with President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
