The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters has warned that any United States military attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities or other sensitive sites will be treated as an expansion of the war in the region. The warning was issued in an official statement broadcast by state media, Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), on Wednesday morning. The statement from Tehran came shortly after US President Donald Trump threatened that Washington would strike the Pickaxe Mountain facility. Pickaxe Mountain is a fortified underground complex located near Natanz in central Iran. In 2020, Iran reported the site to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as a future facility for assembling centrifuges used in nuclear fuel production. ‘If the US military proceeds to such a stage, we will consider it an expansion of the war in the region,’ the military command stated. The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, which serves as Iran’s main joint operational command coordinating all branches of the armed forces, warned of severe consequences. ‘All US interests, as well as the interests of its allies and supporters, will become targets of powerful strikes by the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran,’ the statement added.
