Tehran (ANTARA) - Iran’s Military Spokesperson Mohammad Akraminia on Tuesday said that his side would open a new front for its forces if there were a fresh aggression by the United States and Israel. ‘If the enemy acts foolishly and falls into the (Israel) trap again, as well as carrying out aggression against our beloved Iran again, we will open a new front for them with new methods and influence,’ Akraminia was quoted as saying by Fars News Agency. An Iranian military source told RIA Novosti that Tehran has prepared new tactical steps should another attack occur by the US. On Monday (18/5), United States President Donald Trump said his side had planned to carry out a military strike against Iran on Tuesday. However, at the request of Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Trump postponed the plan in the hope of reaching a peace deal. Then, on Tuesday, Trump said the US could mount a new strike against Iran as early as Friday (22/5) or early next week. The United States and Israel carried out strikes against targets in Iran on 28 February, causing damage and civilian casualties. Iran then retaliated by attacking Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East. Subsequently on 7 April, Washington and Tehran announced a ceasefire and held talks in Islamabad that ended without an agreement. Source: Sputnik/RIA Novosti
