Iran Threatens to Block Bab al-Mandeb Strait After Suspending Peace Talks with US

Peace talks between Iran and the United States (US) are on the verge of collapse. Tasnim reported on Monday, 1 June 2026, that Iran has decided to temporarily halt all negotiations with the US in protest against the Zionist regime of Israel continuing to bombard Lebanon and Gaza.

According to Mehr News, the negotiation team has temporarily halted ‘dialogue and text exchanges via mediators’. Iranian officials and negotiators stated that an immediate halt to the aggression and brutal operations of the Zionist regime in Gaza and Lebanon, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied territories in southern Lebanon, are their demands, and they insisted that no further talks will proceed until Iran and the resistance alliance agree on a response to these demands.

Furthermore, the Resistance Front and Iran have also threatened to fully block the Strait of Hormuz and activate other fronts, including the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, to punish Zionists and their supporters.
