Iran Threatens to Attack US Bases in Europe
Iran has threatened to attack US bases in European countries if those nations become involved in aggression against Iran. The warning was delivered by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei on Monday.
During a weekly press conference, Baghaei asserted that Iran cannot accept the aggressor determining the terms for ending the war. He added that no country has any reason to fear Iran unless it opens its territory to the United States for aggression against Iran.
He stressed that it is Iran’s right to target the source and origin of any act of aggression directed at the Islamic Republic.
Baghaei also reiterated that Iran did not start this war and is exercising its legitimate right to self-defence, and will not allow the war to end on the aggressor’s terms. He explained that Iran has used every diplomatic means to prevent the war.
He stated that we did not start this war, and we should not blame ourselves for the continuation of this situation.
Baghaei said Iran has made every effort through diplomatic channels to prevent war and secure national interests and benefits. In many cases, arrangements and agreements were reached, but the US violated all of them.
He noted that the memorandum of understanding did not last more than three weeks, after which America cancelled all its provisions.
Baghaei asserted that Iran’s strength and the unity of its people are a shield for the Islamic Republic, while reiterating that Iran is capable of thwarting all enemy plans.
