Iran Threatens Retaliation Over Latest US Strikes

Istanbul (ANTARA) - A senior military adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader warned on Thursday that the “aggressing enemy and its lackeys” would be “severely punished” following a new wave of US attacks.

Mohsen Rezaei, a senior adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, made the statement in a post on the US social media platform X.

The statement came shortly after Iranian media reported a series of explosions across southern Iran following US attacks targeting several locations.

State television said projectile fragments struck the Imam Ali Hospital in the south-eastern port city of Chabahar, while the Mehr News Agency reported that attacks in Bushehr province caused no damage to the Bushehr nuclear power plant.

Meanwhile, US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed carrying out additional attacks against Iran, saying the strikes were intended to further weaken Iran’s ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

On Wednesday morning, US President Donald Trump declared that the ceasefire with Iran was no longer in effect.

Several hours later, Iranian media reported explosions heard in a number of cities in the country’s southern region.
