Iran Threatens Full-Scale Offensive as US Strikes Continue for Seventh Night

Iran has threatened a full-scale offensive if US attacks persist, following a seventh consecutive night of American strikes targeting military infrastructure. The escalation has led to the near-closure of the strategic Strait of Hormuz and retaliatory attacks on US bases in Kuwait and Bahrain. Diplomatic efforts are underway with Lebanon’s president visiting Washington, but prospects for peace remain dim. US Central Command confirmed the latest strikes targeted surveillance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage, and maritime capabilities. Iran’s official news agency IRNA reported that the US attacks in Hormozgan province killed three people and wounded eight others, with five explosions heard in the city of Yazd shortly after the strikes were announced. Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry accused Iran of targeting civilian sites and vital infrastructure, including oil, electricity, and water installations. Iran’s military claimed it struck US military targets in Kuwait, specifically Camp Al-Adiri and Ali Al-Salem airbase, in retaliation. In Bahrain, air defence systems reportedly intercepted a wave of Iranian attacks, with explosions heard in Manama after warning sirens sounded. Iran stated it targeted airbases in Bahrain used by the United States. The situation in the Strait of Hormuz grew murkier as Iran’s Revolutionary Guard claimed two oil tankers were hit by mines in what it called a deceptive US intelligence directive, a claim Centcom firmly denied. The Revolutionary Guard also said it stopped four vessels attempting to transit the strategic waterway. Meanwhile, Jordan’s military reported shooting down 10 Iranian missiles aimed at fuel tanks at Al-Azraq base, with no casualties or damage reported. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun departed for Washington to meet President Donald Trump, with the agenda focused on strengthening the ceasefire and discussing Israel’s withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territory. However, peace prospects were overshadowed by a stern warning from Iranian Major General Mohsen Rezaei, who stated that Iran would no longer limit itself to proportional responses and would launch a full-scale offensive operation if US attacks continue, declaring no political border would be safe.
