Iran Threatens Full-Scale Attack if US Does Not Halt Strikes

Iran has threatened to launch a ‘full-scale offensive’ if the United States continues its wave of attacks against the country. The threat, reported by AFP and Egypt Independent on Saturday, was made by a senior official of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Mohsen Rezaei, who also serves as a senior military adviser to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. ‘If the American attacks continue for another two or three days, we will enter the phase of full-scale offensive operations,’ Rezaei stated in an interview cited by state broadcaster IRIB on Friday. ‘Iran will no longer limit itself to retaliatory actions, a proportionate response… No political boundary will be safe from Iran’s offensive power,’ he said. Rezaei added that the United States should pay financial compensation for what Iranian officials describe as attacks on civilian infrastructure. Washington has denied deliberately targeting civilian facilities in Tehran. The statement comes as the US carried out strikes on Iranian targets for a seventh consecutive night, with Tehran retaliating by targeting Gulf states hosting American military assets. Rezaei also warned that Iran’s military response would extend beyond its borders if the conflict escalates. The latest threat echoes recent rhetoric from US President Donald Trump, who declared that the fragile US-Iran ceasefire and memorandum of understanding had ‘expired’ before authorising a new wave of strikes against Tehran. Since then, Iran has launched a series of retaliatory attacks against US military bases located in several neighbouring Gulf countries, including Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain. Iran has also targeted US military facilities in Jordan and Saudi Arabia, further heightening concerns of a wider regional conflict.
