Iran Successfully Neutralises US Forces in Kuwait

The Iranian armed forces announced on Thursday (3/9) that they had attacked United States military bases in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Kuwait in response to recent attacks against Iran.

“The armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran attacked US military bases in the UAE and Kuwait using missiles and drones,” according to an Iranian military statement cited by the Iranian news agency, IRNA.

The Iranian television station Press TV reported that a “primary target” was hit during the strikes launched against the US military base in Kuwait.

The Iranian military stated that the attack on Ahmad Al Jaber Air Base in Kuwait targeted satellite communication systems, warehouses, and fighter jet hangars. Meanwhile, at Al Minhad Air Base in the UAE, the strikes targeted military deployment sites and radar installations. This follows a series of major recent attacks launched by the United States against Iran on Tuesday night.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that those attacks targeted Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) facilities, including air defence systems, radar stations, naval assets, and communication facilities. Iran subsequently carried out retaliatory strikes targeting US military facilities within the Middle East region.

The Kuwaiti military stated that its air defences were working to intercept the missiles and drones launched from Iran.

The Deputy Governor of Hormozgan, Ahmad Nafisi, noted that the number of casualties resulting from US attacks in his region has risen to 68 people.

Furthermore, the IRGC declared that it conducted coordinated missile and drone attacks against US bases in Erbil, within the autonomous Kurdistan region of Iraq.

On the night before 18 June, Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum to ensure an end to the conflict that had been ongoing since 28 February.

The IRGC also claimed to have damaged two US helicopters and attacked military personnel centres, resulting in casualties.
