Iran Strikes Kuwait, Damaging Chinese Company Building and Killing One Worker
Iran has once again launched an attack on Kuwait. Iran’s latest strike on Thursday morning (30 July) hit a building owned by a Chinese company in northern Kuwait, killing one worker.
In a post on the social media platform X, Kuwait’s Ministry of Defence said the Iranian missile strike caused significant damage to the building.
“Iran’s heinous aggression targeted a building owned by a Chinese company in the north of the country, resulting in the death of one worker and causing severe material damage to the building,” read a statement issued by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defence.
“The relevant authorities immediately began taking the necessary measures and responding to the incident in coordination with the relevant agencies,” the ministry’s statement added, as reported by the AFP and Anadolu Agency news agencies on Thursday (30 July 2026).
Kuwait’s armed forces reiterated their commitment to protecting the country’s sovereignty and security, in coordination with the relevant authorities, to ensure the safety of citizens and residents.
Kuwait is among several Gulf states, along with Jordan, that have been targeted by Iranian drone and missile attacks since the start of the Middle East war.
The conflict flared up again on Wednesday (29 July) when the United States military launched its latest wave of attacks against Iran. The assault lasted two hours and struck dozens of targets in Iran. Washington described the latest strikes as a “forceful response” to Iranian missiles fired at US forces in the Middle East the previous day.
The US strikes killed a family of three, including a two-year-old child, on the Iranian island of Qeshm, according to Iran’s Fars news agency, as reported by AFP on Thursday (30 July 2026).
“The US attack on a residential house in the Chah Tangu area of Qeshm killed three members of a family: the father, the mother, and their two-year-old child,” Fars reported, citing Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences, adding that two other children were injured.
Earlier, the US military said on Tuesday (28 July) local time that it had intercepted several ballistic missiles launched by Iran towards American forces in Jordan. Iranian authorities subsequently confirmed that they had fired ballistic missiles at US military bases in Jordan.
President Donald Trump said after the Iranian missiles were intercepted that US forces would retaliate. “We are going to hit them very hard,” he said.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) described the latest strikes as a “forceful response to Iran’s attempted attack yesterday on US forces based in the Middle East.”
CENTCOM said the American strikes began at 8pm ET on Wednesday (0000 GMT Thursday) and ended at 10pm ET (0200 GMT Thursday).
“CENTCOM struck dozens of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targets in Iran, including military command centres, missile and drone facilities, surveillance and coastal defence sites, and maritime capabilities,” CENTCOM said in its statement.
