Iran Step Aside! Europe Officially Becomes Trump's "New Target" for Attacks

The government of US President Donald Trump is now “attacking” Europe. Trump accuses Europe of being an “incubator” for terrorism.

This is triggered by mass migration on the continent. The accusation itself appears explicitly in the “new counter-terrorism strategy” announced on Wednesday local time.

In fact, this strategy also focuses on eradicating left-wing extremists who commit violence, including “radical pro-transgender” groups in the US, as Trump’s conservative administration ramps up its political attacks on its opponents. The strategy also places drug cartels in America at the centre of counter-terrorism efforts.

However, some of the harshest language is directed at Europe. Even though Europe is a US ally, this automatically raises concerns that the continent will now become a new target of the Trump administration.

“It is clear to everyone that well-organised enemy groups are exploiting open borders and related globalist ideals. The more this foreign culture develops, and the longer Europe’s current policies persist, the more guaranteed the terrorism,” the strategy states, quoted by AFP on Thursday (7/5/2026).

“As the birthplace of Western culture and values, Europe must act now and stop its deliberate decline,” the strategy adds, led by counter-terrorism coordinator Sebastian Gorka, who has been accused of ties to far-right extremist groups.

Upon further investigation, this new criticism of Europe actually emerges just a few months after Trump’s new national security strategy stated that the continent faces “the erasure of civilisation” due to immigration. Trump has also recently condemned European NATO allies for failing to support his war against Iran.

Left-wing groups are a primary concern for the Trump administration, with the strategy targeting what it calls “Cruel Left-Wing Extremists, including Anarchists and Anti-Fascists.” It states that US counter-terrorism efforts will “prioritise the identification and rapid neutralisation of secular political groups that commit violence and whose ideology is anti-American, highly pro-transgender, and anarchist.”
