Iran Sets Rp1 Trillion Bounty to Target Trump and Netanyahu
Tensions between Iran and the United States and Israel have reached a new boiling point, with Tehran reportedly weighing a proposal to offer a bounty of US$58 million, or around Rp1 trillion, to target President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The move is a direct response to the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who was killed in a drone strike coordinated by the United States and Israel earlier this year; his son and heir Mojtaba Khamenei is also said to have been wounded.
Chairman of the National Security Committee, Ebrahim Azizi, confirmed that Parliament is preparing a vote on a draft retaliatory law. If approved, the law would grant full authority to Iran’s military and security forces to execute the contract targeting the two leaders. “Because Trump ordered the killing of Ali Khamenei, he himself must be confronted by every Muslim and every free person,” Azizi said in a formal statement.
The armed conflict began on February 28 this year. In addition to military escalation, there are reports of sexual abuse testimonies faced by Iranian citizens and Trump’s attempts to access US nuclear launch codes, which senior generals had previously prevented.
Amid the bounty threat, President Donald Trump claimed on Truth Social that he cancelled a large‑scale military strike against Iran at the last moment. He said he had instructed Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Daniel Caine that “we will NOT conduct a scheduled attack tomorrow”, but warned that the US military remains on high alert to launch a major strike if negotiations fail.
While Gulf‑mediated negotiations continue, Iran has put forward a six‑point peace proposal demanding reparations or compensation for damages caused by the war, payable by the United States.
According to internal White House sources, a deal could be reached in the coming days. However, Trump has insisted that the condition for any agreement is: “NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS FOR IRAN!”
