Tehran (ANTARA) - Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that the United States has responded to the 14-point plan proposed by Iran to end the war. He made the statement in an interview with the state television station IRIB TV on Sunday (3/5), while noting that the US response is currently being reviewed. The spokesperson emphasised that Iran’s plan specifically focuses on stopping the war, and “there is nothing related to nuclear field details in it.” “At present, we are focusing on parameters related to stopping the war in this region, including Lebanon,” Baghaei added, while stressing that “at this stage, we are not conducting nuclear negotiations.” On the same day, Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi provided explanations to his counterparts from Oman and Germany regarding Iran’s latest diplomatic efforts and initiatives to end the war. In separate telephone conversations, Araghchi exchanged views with Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi and Germany’s Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul on the latest regional and international developments, according to a statement released by Iran’s Foreign Ministry. On 28 February, Israel and the US launched a joint attack on Tehran and other cities, killing Iran’s then-supreme leader Ali Khamenei, several senior commanders, and civilians. Iran subsequently responded with waves of missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and US interests in the region. A ceasefire came into effect on 8 April, followed by talks between Iranian and US delegations in Islamabad that failed to produce an agreement.
