Iran says US damaged diplomacy through repeated ceasefire violations

Istanbul (ANTARA) - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that repeated ceasefire violations by the United States, contradictory messages, and ever-changing demands have undermined diplomatic efforts.

“The diplomatic process does not occur in a vacuum,” said Baghaei on Wednesday (10/6).

“To advance any negotiation or diplomatic process, sufficiently conducive conditions are required so that diplomacy can proceed,” he added.

Baghaey accused the US of disrupting diplomatic channels through conflicting messages, repeated changes in stance and demands, and ceasefire violations.

“Unfortunately, the United States, through the contradictory messages it conveys, repeated changes in its position and demands, and worst of all, repeated ceasefire violations, has undermined the diplomatic process,” he said.

Baghaei also accused Israel of hindering diplomacy through repeated ceasefire violations in Lebanon.

“Any diplomatic process will be harmed by the use of force and actions that violate the law,” he said.

Baghaei added that Iran will review the conditions surrounding upcoming negotiations based on recent developments, but he did not provide further details.
