Iran says Trump better understands 'language of violence'

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi has said that US President Donald Trump seems to better understand the ‘language of violence’, after he threatened to launch further strikes against Tehran. Trump’s statements insulting the Iranian nation and threatening more attacks are not ‘a sign of strength, but an admission of the failure of policies that for years have been built on violence, sanctions, and threats,’ Gharibabadi wrote on X on Wednesday. He stressed that Trump’s policies ‘failed to bring the Iranian nation to its knees.’ ‘With a criminal and ruthless Trump, we must speak in his own language. It seems he better understands the language of violence,’ Gharibabadi said. Trump had earlier said the US might strike Iran again on Wednesday night, following overnight US attacks in retaliation for assaults on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. ‘We struck them very hard last night, very, very hard. We may strike them hard again tonight. I will give them a little warning. We are going to hit them hard tonight,’ Trump said on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey. ‘I don’t want to deal with them anymore. They are garbage,’ the US President said. Trump also stated that a memorandum of understanding signed last month with Iran to end the conflict had ‘expired.’
