Iran Responds to Trump: We Will Determine the End of the War
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has responded to remarks made by US President Donald Trump regarding the escalating conflict in the Middle East, asserting that Iran will determine the outcome of the war.
“We will determine the end of the war,” the IRGC stated in a statement on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.
“The situation and future status of this region is now in the hands of our armed forces; American troops will not end the war,” the statement added.
Trump had previously claimed that the war against Iran is essentially finished, stating that it will conclude faster than Washington’s initial estimates of four to five weeks of conflict.
Trump made these comments during a telephone interview with CBS News on Monday, 9 March, local time. The United States and Israel launched large-scale strikes against Iran beginning on 28 February. These attacks subsequently triggered escalation of the conflict across the Middle East region.
“I think this war is very much over, almost,” Trump said.
“They (Iran) do not have a navy, no communications, they do not have an air force. Their missiles are running out. Their drones are being destroyed everywhere, including their drone manufacturing plants,” Trump claimed.
The US military itself claimed to have struck more than 3,000 targets in Iranian territory during the first week of military operations. The strikes were named ‘Operation Epic Fury’.
“How this war ends is only in my mind, not in anyone else’s,” Trump said.
