Iran Rejects US Peace Proposal Delivered via Qatar over Nuclear Issue

TEHRAN — Iran has rejected a proposal from Qatar, which is mediating the latest effort to end the war, describing it as “unacceptable”.

Qatar presented a draft peace proposal to Iran’s negotiating team on Sunday (25 October 2026). However, a senior Iranian official told Reuters, as reported by Middle East Eye, that Iran could not accept what Qatar had presented, adding that Tehran would not show flexibility on the nuclear issue.

Earlier this month, US Vice-President JD Vance said Iran must reduce uranium enrichment to end the war. The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly said that its nuclear programme is intended solely for domestic, non-military use.
