Iran ready to end war through dialogue, says Pezeshkian

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has affirmed his country’s readiness to end the war and regional tensions through dialogue within a ‘dignified framework’. During a phone call with the Emir of Qatar, Pezeshkian stated that Iran has consistently demonstrated its commitment to dialogue. He also urged other parties to demonstrate genuine political will and comply with international obligations. A joint US-Israel attack on Iran began on 28 February. In response, Iran launched attacks against Israeli targets and US military bases in the region. After 40 days of fighting, a two-week ceasefire mediated by Pakistan came into effect on 7 April.
