Iran Prepares a 'Great Disaster' for the US if It Dares a Ground Invasion

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said he was not afraid if the United States and Israel continued their land-based attacks. Iran says it has prepared a ‘great disaster’ if the US dares to deploy its troops by land.

In an exclusive interview with NBC News from Tehran, Iran, on Thursday (5 March), Araghchi emphasised Iran’s readiness and confidence in defending its sovereignty.

‘The, no, we are waiting for them,’ Araghchi said when asked whether he feared a possible US ground invasion. ‘Because we are confident that we can confront them, and it would be a great disaster for them,’ he added, according to Iranian media Press TV, on Friday (6 March 2026) cited from detikNews.

Araghchi stressed that Iran had not called for a ceasefire and remained committed to opposing the aggression.

Araghchi also discussed the US-Israel attack on a primary school in Minab, southern Iran, which killed 171 children.

He placed full blame on the US and Israeli militaries. ‘This is what our military says. So whether it is the US or Israel. What’s the difference?’ he asked, condemning the attack as a grave violation of civilians.
