Iran prepared to face all risks amidst conflict with US

Tehran (ANTARA) - Iran is prepared to face any risks amidst the conflict with the United States, stated Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei on Monday. CNN previously reported that the Pentagon has prepared a list of potential strike targets in Iran should US President Donald Trump instruct the continuation of attacks against the nation. “We are prepared for any scenario. The Iranian armed forces have proven their capability during the 40-day period (during the battles prior to the ceasefire) that we will respond with full force to any reckless action,” Baghaei said during a press conference. Iran and the US will continue dialogues mediated by Pakistan, he added. Furthermore, Iran continues discussions with Oman regarding the development of navigation mechanisms in the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, Trump on Sunday (17/5) requested that Iran immediately reach an agreement with the US, stating that time is of the essence. The US and Israel began attacking Iran on 28 February, resulting in over 3,000 deaths. Washington and Tehran subsequently announced a ceasefire on 8 April, following talks in Islamabad that concluded without results. Without an official announcement of renewed hostilities, the US has begun blockading various Iranian ports.
