The Central Command of Iran’s Armed Forces has again warned all parties to comply with maritime traffic regulations in the Strait of Hormuz, affirming the Islamic Republic of Iran’s full authority over the strategic waterway. In a statement on Saturday (30 May 2026), the Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters stated that all commercial vessels, oil tankers, and other ships must use designated shipping routes and adhere to applicable guidelines when transiting the strait.

The headquarters responsible for planning, coordination, and deployment of Iran’s Armed Forces emphasised that all ships must obtain prior permission from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGC Navy) before transiting the waters. The statement also highlighted that failure to comply with regulations could seriously jeopardise maritime safety and security in the region.

The Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters also warned that any military attempts to disrupt the management of the Strait of Hormuz or obstruct shipping in the area would face a firm response from Iran’s Armed Forces.

Iran, which maintains full control over the waterway connecting the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman, has repeatedly stated that its regulatory measures aim to ensure the safety of passing vessels. Tehran also affirmed it will not tolerate any aggressive actions that could interfere with the management of the Strait of Hormuz, located off the coasts of Iran and Oman.
