Iran Launches Drone Attack on Bahrain, Strikes Residential Building

Iran launched missiles and drones at US military sites in Kuwait and Bahrain on Sunday morning, shortly after US President Donald Trump threatened to annihilate Iran’s leadership if they did not comply with a temporary agreement to end their war. Although there were no fatalities in the attack, a residential building in Muharraq, Bahrain, sustained damage to both its interior and exterior after being struck by an Iranian drone. Civil defence and rescue personnel were deployed to the scene. This military flare-up erupted exactly one week after Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at drafting a permanent peace deal following months of open warfare. In response to the incident, Bahrain urged the UN Security Council to convene an emergency session to hold Iran accountable for the attack.
