Iran: Israeli Aggression Against Lebanon Will Be Met with Firm Response

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Iran has asserted that any provocative and aggressive actions carried out by the Zionist regime against Lebanon and Iran will be met with firm retaliation.

“The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Indonesia emphasises that every provocative action and aggressive act carried out by the Zionist regime against Lebanon or the Islamic Republic of Iran will be met with a firm, comprehensive, and devastating response from the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” stated the Iranian Embassy in Jakarta on Monday.

The Embassy noted that the Iranian Armed Forces launched attacks against the Zionist regime in the northern region of Palestine on Sunday night (7/6), following repeated violations of the ceasefire on 8 April and the continuation of Israeli aggression against Lebanon and Iran.

These actions also serve as a response to Israel’s cooperation with the United States military in attacks over the past two weeks against several ships and various targets in southern Iranian territory, which were deemed maritime piracy against the Iranian people.

“The Iranian Armed Forces, on Sunday night, 7 June 2026, in the exercise of their inherent right to self-defence as stipulated in Article 51 of the UN Charter, attacked several military targets in the occupied territory of northern Palestine,” the statement added.

Iran reaffirmed its nation’s strong determination to defend its security and national interests firmly whenever and wherever necessary, while reminding that the ceasefire in Lebanon is an integral part of the ceasefire agreement of 8 April 2026.

Consequently, Iran accused the US government of bearing direct responsibility for the various ceasefire violations committed by the Zionist regime and all resulting consequences, including any escalation of tensions in the region.
