JAKARTA — The escalating Iran-Israel conflict is not only destabilising the region but also forcing global airlines to alter their flight routes. Amid the closure of several Middle Eastern airspaces, Garuda Indonesia has confirmed that all of its international flights will avoid zones affected by the conflict.

This assurance was issued by Garuda’s management following the airline’s announcement of flight suspensions to and from Doha, Qatar. This step represents part of operational adjustments amid the escalation of the regional situation.

“Garuda Indonesia’s international flight operations on other routes continue to operate normally. All such flight paths are confirmed to avoid airspace affected by the conflict,” according to an official statement from Garuda Indonesia last week.

Garuda Indonesia’s management stated that this policy was adopted as a precautionary measure, prioritising safety and security of flight operations. The company emphasised its commitment to ensuring safe and reliable travel for all passengers.

“Garuda Indonesia continues to actively coordinate with aviation authorities and relevant stakeholders to monitor developments in the situation and ensure readiness of mitigation measures as required,” the management statement continued.

Coordination is also being conducted intensively with partner airlines to ensure that affected passengers are handled in accordance with regulations, including implementation of applicable compensation policies.

“Garuda Indonesia will continue intensive monitoring of the situation’s developments and coordinate with national and international authorities to ensure flight operations continue to the highest standards of safety and security,” it added.

Customers can access the latest flight schedule information through the Garuda Indonesia Contact Centre, available 24 hours at 021-2351 9999 or 0804 1 807 807. Passengers can also utilise the Live Chat service through linktr.ee/contactGIA and monitor the company’s official communication channels.
