Iran Insists No Final Deal Reached with US

Iran has stressed that it has not yet reached a final agreement with the United States. This comes amid an announcement by US President Donald Trump of a ‘major settlement’ to end the war. “So far, Iran has not reached a final conclusion regarding the agreement,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei, as reported by AFP on Friday (12/6/2026). Tasnim news agency noted that Trump had announced a deal would soon be reached 38 times in the previous two months. “Until Iran announces the matter of a potential understanding, any news from Trump regarding this issue should be considered the same as his previous messages,” the news agency warned. Trump had earlier abruptly called off a strike against Iran, hinting at the possibility of a deal with Iran. “Based on the fact that discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran have been brought to the highest levels of Iranian leadership and approved, I have… called off the strike and bombing that was scheduled against Iran tonight,” Trump said on his Truth Social network, as reported by AFP on Friday. Trump stated that “the discussions and final points have, both in concept and detail, been approved by all parties involved,” including the United States and Israel, which jointly launched a war with Iran in February.
