Moscow - Iran has no plans to move high-enriched uranium abroad, according to Ebrahim Azizi, head of the parliamentary national security and foreign policy committee, who told RIA Novosti on Friday (29 May).

‘We have no plans to move high-enriched uranium abroad. We do not intend to transfer enriched uranium to third countries, intermediaries, or anywhere else,’ he said.

On Wednesday (27 May), Azizi reiterated Iran’s stance in a post on X, stating that ‘Iran will not be forced to retreat from its red lines by Trump’s rhetoric: the right to enrich uranium, ownership of enriched uranium, authority over the Strait of Hormuz, and the lifting of sanctions.’

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Thursday (28 May) that Iran’s high-enriched uranium stockpile belongs to Iran, and only the Iranian people have the right to determine its fate.
