Iran Has a 'New Card' on the Battlefield, According to Bagher Ghalibaf

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TEHRAN – Ahead of the end of the ceasefire announced between the US and Israel with Iran, there is no certainty regarding negotiations between the conflicting parties in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Iran’s parliamentary speaker Bagher Ghalibaf posted on X, stating that Iran has prepared to show a ‘new card’ on the battlefield. Iran, he said, will not accept negotiations under the shadow of threats.

“In the last two weeks, we have prepared to present a ‘new card’ on the battlefield,” he continued.

Iran considers the US not serious in promoting the ceasefire. Instead of negotiating, the United States has sent warships to blockade Iranian waters. Uncle Sam’s move has angered Tehran, leading to a refusal to negotiate under pressure.

US President Donald Trump denied that he is under pressure to reach an agreement. Trump added that it is highly unlikely the two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran, which ends this Wednesday, will be extended.

In the Gulf, the US continues to blockade waters leading to Iranian ports after seizing a Tehran-flagged cargo ship on Sunday. Both sides accuse each other of violating the ceasefire.

In Persian, Major General Abdullahi stated that the IRGC has driven Israel and the US into despair and exhaustion. “Forcing them to desperately request a ceasefire,” according to Fars.

He said the armed forces will not allow the lying and delusional US president to create a false narrative about the situation on the ground, especially regarding the Strait of Hormuz.

It remains unclear whether the Iranian delegation will head to Islamabad for the second round of peace talks with the US.
