Istanbul (ANTARA) - Iran has stated that enriched uranium is not part of ongoing negotiations to resolve its conflict with the US, according to Ali Bagheri, deputy secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, on Wednesday.

“This issue is not on the negotiation agenda,” Bagheri said in a statement published by Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency.

The comments were made during an international security conference in Moscow, Russia.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said on Monday (25 May) that Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile would soon be handed over to Washington to be destroyed or disposed of at a mutually agreed location with Tehran.

The statement came as Washington and Tehran continued diplomatic processes mediated by Pakistan to end the conflict that began with a joint US-Israel attack on Iran on 28 February, which prompted retaliation from Iran.
