Iran Dismisses Trump's Threats to Attack Infrastructure as Delusional!
The spokesperson for Iran’s Central Headquarters of Khatam al-Anbiya in the military has spoken out regarding the threats from US President Donald Trump, who stated he would destroy bridges and power plants in Iran. He described Trump’s threats as arrogant and delusional.
“Rough, arrogant, and baseless threats from the delusional US president will not compensate for America’s shame and humiliation in the West Asia region,” the spokesperson said, as reported by Al Jazeera on Tuesday (7/4/2026).
The statement was broadcast by Iranian state media. The spokesperson also said that Trump’s threats would not be able to cover up the “shame and humiliation” suffered by the US.
Trump’s Ultimatum
Trump had previously said that Iran has 48 hours to open the Strait of Hormuz. Trump threatened that Iran would face “hell” if it does not reach an agreement.
“Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, as reported by AFP on Saturday (4/4).
“Time is almost up – 48 hours before all Hell will rain down on them,” Trump said, adding: “All glory to GOD!”
Trump initially threatened on 21 March to “destroy” Iran’s power plants, starting with the largest in the country, “if Iran does not FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS.”
However, two days later, he stated that “very good and productive conversations” were underway with Iranian authorities. He then postponed the attack on the power plants for five days.
He then extended the deadline again, until it expires at 20:00 on Monday (00:00 GMT Tuesday).
