Iran Deputy FM: All Wars End Tonight

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, has confirmed that an agreement has been reached to end the war between the United States-Israel alliance and the Islamic Republic. Negotiations spanning 60 days will commence immediately.

Iran’s diplomatic mission in India quoted Gharibabadi announcing, “The end of the war and all military operations in various fields, including Lebanon, will be announced starting tonight.” A post on X added, “The end of the US naval blockade against Iran will commence tonight.”

He told Iranian state television that the deal includes a ceasefire in the conflict in Lebanon between Israel and the Iranian-backed Hezbollah group, a detail also cited by Pakistan’s prime minister in a statement.

Gharibabadi added in his remarks to state media that negotiations to achieve a final agreement would be held over a 60-day period, adding that Tehran would take its own measures in the event of “violations by the other side.”

“When the negotiations begin within 60 days with the aim of reaching a final agreement, if that final agreement is eventually reached, the main issue for us is, of course, the implementation of its provisions,” he said.

Gharibabadi’s statement came shortly after US President Donald Trump confirmed that a deal between the two countries was “done” and that he had “authorised” the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, which had been blockaded by Iran, and the simultaneous cessation of the US blockade against Iranian ports. The Iranian post did not reference the Strait of Hormuz.

Israel was excluded from the negotiations regarding the agreement, the terms of which have reportedly raised significant alarm among Israeli officials. The deal reportedly fails to achieve key war objectives set by the US and Israel, including eliminating Iran’s nuclear weapons programme, depleting its ballistic missile stockpiles, ending its support for proxies, and creating conditions for the regime’s collapse.
