Iran Deploys New Air Defence System Amid Renewed US Tensions

Iran has officially deployed a new air defence system, significantly enhancing its military readiness amid escalating tensions with the United States. Brigadier General Mohammad Akrami Nia announced the system’s activation, stating it would strengthen national defence capabilities and allow for a rapid response to aerial threats. He noted that Iranian forces are prepared to counter any aggression within two hours, following years of intensive training and planning. Akrami Nia also reiterated that Iran has no ambition to develop nuclear weapons, dismissing US allegations as a pretext for military action and sanctions. The announcement comes despite a recent memorandum between Tehran and Washington aimed at ending a conflict that began on 28 February.
