Iran Denies Attacking the US Embassy; Former Saudi Intelligence Chief Calls This Netanyahu's War

The Iranian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Alireza Enayati, strongly denied Tehran’s involvement in the attack on the United States Embassy in Riyadh. He told AFP in an exclusive interview on Thursday that Iran had no role in the assault. He also expressed deep appreciation for Saudi diplomacy and praised Riyadh’s decision to deny the use of its airspace, waters and land as bases for military attacks against Iran. In another development, former Saudi Intelligence Chief Prince Turki al-Faisal criticised the escalation, saying that Netanyahu had persuaded US President Donald Trump to back his vision. He argued the war is deliberately meant to distract the world from Israel’s alleged crimes in Gaza and the West Bank, urging attention away from the Palestinian issue to confrontation with Iran. The Iranian military subsequently launched a large wave of kamikaze drone strikes against US bases in Kuwait as retaliation, with six US soldiers reported killed. Pezeshkian’s statement emerged as neighbouring Arab states weighed their responses to Iran’s missile strikes. They reiterated their commitment to preventing Iraqi territory from being used as a launchpad for attacks on neighbouring states. In a later post on Truth Social, Trump claimed the State Department had moved thousands of people from across the Middle East.
