Iran Deceives US with Fake Weapons, Trump Issues Hormuz Ultimatum
US President Donald Trump has threatened Tehran, Iran. The latest report from US intelligence agencies reveals that Iran is suspected of employing deception tactics by using fake weapons during the conflict. These replica weapons were deliberately placed to serve as targets for US and Israeli attacks. Officials familiar with the report state that the US has yet to confirm the number of Iran’s genuine missile launchers destroyed during the war. Meanwhile, the Iranian government has responded to Trump’s latest ultimatum, which threatens renewed large-scale attacks. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, emphasised that Iran’s military position is clear regarding responses to any attacks. “Iran’s reaction will retaliate against any attack. Our Armed Forces are very clear that attacks on critical infrastructure will be met with retaliation,” he said, quoted by CNN on Tuesday (7/4). At the same time, Trump has renewed pressure on Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global oil trade route, amid the ongoing conflict. He threatened to target public facilities in Iran, including power plants and bridges, if the demand is not met. The statement was posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Sunday (5/4). “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day and Bridge Day, all combined in one in Iran. There will be nothing like it! Open that damn Strait, you bastards, or you will live in hell. Just watch Alhamdulillah,” Trump wrote. This statement further underscores the escalation of rhetoric between the two countries, amid uncertainty over the conflict’s direction. Based on the latest available tracking footage, the ships are near Oman after changing course. Iran demands guarantees of no future attacks, as well as a halt to Israeli strikes on its ally, Hezbollah, in southern Lebanon. The threat coincides with the deadline he gave to Iran until Tuesday night to reopen shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran is showing a hardline stance ahead of the deadline from US President Donald Trump regarding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz. As the time limit approaches, Tehran is not backing down.
