Iran confirms 18 US military assets in region targeted in attacks

Istanbul (ANTARA) - Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced that 18 US military assets in Kuwait and Bahrain were targeted in attacks amidst escalating regional tensions. In a statement on Thursday, the IRGC said its targets included the Ali Al Salem and Ahmad Al Jaber airbases in Kuwait, as well as the Sheikh Isa airbase in Bahrain. Separately, the Iranian military stated it had struck Patriot systems and communication facilities belonging to the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain. The Iranian military also confirmed that a number of drones were launched towards the US Fifth Fleet in retaliation for what it described as a US attack on southern Iran. Iranian forces are also ever ready to confront the enemy ‘until the last breath’ and will not retreat until all enemies have been punished for their actions, the Iranian military statement said. The statement was delivered amid escalating regional tensions following US strikes on southern Iran and Iran’s retaliatory attacks on US military assets in the region.
