Iran Closes Strait of Hormuz and Threatens to Attack All Ships

Iran has officially closed the Strait of Hormuz and issued a stark warning that all ships attempting to navigate the strategic waterway will be targeted. The Khatam al-Anbiya military command declared that the strait is now completely shut to all maritime traffic. Authorities warned that any vessel approaching the Strait of Hormuz would be considered a target, framing the move as a response to the breakdown of diplomatic efforts and what Tehran describes as repeated ceasefire violations by Washington.

The closure follows an Iranian retaliatory missile strike on the Harir US airbase in northern Iraq, which itself was a response to American airstrikes on southern Iran.
