Iran claims to have killed US soldiers in attack on Jordan

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has stated it launched an attack into Jordan, killing American military personnel there. “As part of the 24th phase of Operation Nasr 2, IRGC air forces attacked an area where US Army soldiers were stationed in the Rukban area of Jordan and killed several of them,” according to an IRGC statement on Tuesday. Previously, on Monday (20/7), US President Donald Trump stressed that Iran would face multiplied consequences for every US soldier killed. Trump has also instructed the US military high command regarding the matter. However, the US military launched a number of attacks against Iran again on 8 July. The Iranian military then carried out retaliatory strikes on US military bases spread across several countries in the Gulf region. Then, on 9 July, Trump stressed that the ceasefire between the US and Iran was no longer in effect.
