Iran Claims Successful Drone Attack on USS Abraham Lincoln Aircraft Carrier
State television in Iran announced that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had successfully fired a drone at the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier. There is currently no detailed information about the claim.
According to detikNews, as reported by AFP on Friday, 6 March 2026, state television provided no details regarding the claim. Previously, the IRGC had also claimed to have shot down an American carrier with a drone, but the United States denied it at the time.
It is understood that Iran continues to retaliate for attacks on the country by the United States and Israel. The Iranian military recently resumed drone attacks on Kuwait. Iran targeted American forces at the Arifjan Camp, Kuwait. According to Al Jazeera and AFP, on Thursday, 5 March, Iran said it had launched drones at the US base at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. The report was conveyed by Tasnim, a semi-official news agency.
Additionally, Iranian combat drones were launched at Camp Udairi. The camp is a major US military facility in north-west Kuwait. ‘Naval drone units of the armed forces targeted the location of Camp Udairi, where US troops are stationed in Kuwait, using combat drones,’ the military said in a statement broadcast on state television.
