Iran Claims Attack on US Logistics Hub and Carrier Fuel Platform in Oman

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has claimed to have attacked a logistical support centre and a refuelling platform serving a US aircraft carrier in the port of Duqm, Oman. In a statement published by Sepah News on Sunday, the IRGC said its air force launched a ‘heavy and surprising’ attack on the ‘US Navy logistical support centre and aircraft carrier refuelling platform’ as part of the third phase of retaliation for recent US aggression. The IRGC stated that the operation was a response to deadly US attacks, declaring that the resolve of the Iranian nation is reflected in the funeral processions for its great leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, attended by tens of millions of people. The statement concluded by citing a Quranic verse: ‘Victory is only from Allah, the Almighty, the All-Wise.’ The announcement followed the IRGC’s claim that its navy had disabled a second vessel violating regulations in the Strait of Hormuz in a retaliatory military operation. According to a separate statement from the IRGC Public Relations Department, the second phase of retaliation involved ballistic missiles that successfully struck a US fighter jet maintenance and repair headquarters and a control facility at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. Iran warned that continued US and Israeli aggression would be met with even stronger military responses.
