Iran: Certain parties seek to derail Tehran-Washington agreement

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that there are various parties opposed to an agreement between Tehran and Washington, with Israel being the primary opponent. “Of course, there are opponents to the agreement, led by the Zionist regime, which is seeking a pretext to derail it,” the foreign minister said on Iranian television. Previously, on 28 February, the US and Israel began brutally striking targets in Iran, killing more than 3,000 people. Then, on 7 April, Washington and Tehran announced a ceasefire, which officially remains in effect. Subsequently, a negotiation process between Iran and the US is underway, with both countries seeking to agree on a framework memorandum of understanding to resolve the conflict. However, both sides periodically continue to launch isolated attacks through various military operations.
